A rudraksha mala is a type of prayer beads or rosary made from the seeds of the rudraksha tree, which is found mainly in Nepal and India. The rudraksha seeds are believed to have spiritual and healing properties in Hinduism and Buddhism and are used for chanting mantras, meditation, and spiritual practices.
Rudraksha mala beads are traditionally used in Hindu and Buddhist practices for meditation, prayer, and spiritual rituals. They are the dried seeds of the Rudraksha tree, known for their unique appearance and spiritual significance. Each bead has a different number of facets, or “mukhis,” which can enhance specific qualities or intentions during meditation.
It is used to count Mantras in the above figure (108,54,27). The same Mala is not used for wearing as well as Japa. Mala rests on ring finger and middle finger is used for Japa. Index and smallest finger are considered as inauspicious for touching the Mala during Japa process. Rudraksha Rosary is considered as the only Rosary, which can be used for Japa of all kinds. The details found in the scriptures say that Rudraksha rosary should be worn after proper sanctification with Mantra.
